Reaching for the Stars: Eva Suto on Winning, Growth, and New Work’s Impact

Interview with Eva Suto – Senior Sales Manager at New Work. 

How did you feel upon receiving the annual award, and what does this recognition mean to you personally and professionally?

It is a really great feeling being noticed and appreciated by the Management. It motivates and gives me even more power to exceed the expectations but at least to reach the company’s expectations. There is a famous quote I always keep in mind: “Shoot for the Moon and even if you miss, you will land among the stars”.

This recognition is a kind of “feedback” for me from the company that has a message: Keep up the good work! Just do it! The show must go on! It inspires me.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

First, I prioritize which are the most important and urgent deals/things I have to do. Spend some of my time on the administration part, make some phone calls, do some online and off-line networking, and make some plans ahead for the next days/weeks. Have some calls and discussions with the cross-departments about certain cases. Talk to my co-workers.

What personal achievement are you most proud of?

I’ve been working for New Work for five and a half years now and I am very proud of it.

What do you enjoy most about our work environment?

We have a very open and flexible community. We help and support each other.

Do you have a favorite company event or tradition?

I like it when we have quarterly cross-department meetings with the CEO, who has a presentation and gives us feedback about the results that we’ve achieved in the near past and also gives us a picture of the near future what his visions and plans are, and shows the direction. I also enjoy the weekly broker networking. I meet a broker each week, and we have lunch and discuss the current market situation. It is interesting to hear how other people from the real estate industry approach and see the market from different perspectives. Also, I would highlight the Broker breakfasts when we arrange this event for the brokers, we invite them and usually, our CEO, Hubert Abt has a speech and presentation. What I enjoy the most is when we organize breakfast/brunch for Tenants. It is a great opportunity for Clients to build their network, get to know each other, and have a small chat that probably they wouldn’t do normally when they pass by the kitchen on the weekdays.

What is New Work to you?

First of all, it is my workplace where I come with a smile every day. It is priceless when you can work in a pleasant environment. It is a great community in and out – both from the employee’s and tenant’s perspective. 

Who or what has been your biggest inspiration or motivator throughout your career progression?

First of all, it is the CEO, Hubert Abt. He is a very well-balanced person, inspiring, motivating, and a truly “cool” leader – if I can say. He shows the way, he is the captain of the New Work ship. I believe if the Leader is good then the Team is good because we are led by a good example. Also, I have learned a lot from my immediate supervisors during the years. They all had different approaches and innovative ideas in sales. Also, I like that we have training, and mentoring weekly or every other week that helps us to achieve great results. When we can see that our Tenants are happy and satisfied that is also very motivating. Last but not least: our co-workers. It is also important to have good relationships with our colleagues on a daily basis.

How do you stay motivated and continuously improve in your sales career?

As our CEO usually says: it is all about having a positive mindset. And it’s true. If we think positively and we believe we can do it, then everything is possible. We can attract success if our mind is set up for that.
